1. Who We Are

Grown-Home is a neighborhood food marketplace operated by Eddie Zaldivar. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website at grown-home.com and related services.

2. What We Collect

Account Information

• Name and display name
• Email address
• Profile photo (optional)
• ZIP code
• Phone number (if provided for verification)

Identity Verification

If you subscribe to Verified and submit a government ID, we store the ID photo securely for the sole purpose of identity verification. ID photos are reviewed only by Grown-Home administrators and are never shared with other users or third parties.

Listing and Transaction Data

• Listings you create (title, description, photos, price, category)
• Transaction history (orders requested, accepted, completed)
• Messages exchanged with other users
• Reviews you write or receive
• Saved listings

Payment Information

Food payments happen off-platform (Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, cash). We do not collect or store your payment handles — those are shared directly between buyer and seller after order acceptance.

For subscription payments (Verified, Plus), billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Automatically Collected

• Browser type and device information
• IP address (hashed for QR scan analytics — not stored in plain text)
• Pages visited and actions taken on the Platform
• Cookies for authentication (JWT session token)

3. How We Use Your Information

• To operate the marketplace — connect buyers with sellers in their neighborhood
• To display your profile and listings to other users
• To send transactional emails (order updates, verification status, messages)
• To verify your identity if you subscribe to Verified
• To calculate trust metrics (Trusted status, ratings, reviews)
• To detect and prevent abuse (reports, rate limiting)
• To improve the Platform based on usage patterns

4. What We Share

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only in these circumstances:

• With other users: Your display name, profile photo, ZIP code area, listings, reviews, and verification status are visible to other users. Your email address and government ID are never shared.
• Service providers: We use Firebase (Google) for authentication and data storage, Stripe for subscription billing, Vercel for hosting, and Nodemailer for email delivery. These providers access data only as needed to provide their services.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request.

5. Cookies

We use a single authentication cookie containing a JWT (JSON Web Token) to keep you logged in. This is a functional cookie required for the Platform to work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

We may use Google Analytics to understand how the Platform is used. You can opt out of Google Analytics using browser extensions or settings.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication (Firebase Auth), and access controls. ID verification photos are stored in a restricted area accessible only to administrators.

No system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data but we take reasonable steps to protect it.

7. Your Rights

You can:

• Access and update your profile information at any time through your account settings
• Delete your account by contacting us at hello@grown-home.com
• Request a copy of your data
• Opt out of non-essential emails

California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what data we collect, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (which we do not do).

8. SMS / Text Messaging

When you place an order on Grown-Home, we collect your mobile phone number to send you an order confirmation via SMS. This is a one-time transactional message per order containing your order number and a link to track your order status.

By providing your phone number during checkout and placing an order, you consent to receive this transactional text message from Grown-Home.

• Message frequency: one (1) message per order placed
• Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan
• Reply STOP to opt out of future messages at any time
• Reply HELP for support or contact support@grown-home.com
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages

We will never use your phone number for marketing or promotional messages. Your mobile phone number and SMS opt-in consent will not be shared with or sold to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may share your phone number with service providers who assist in delivering SMS messages (such as our SMS delivery partner), solely for the purpose of sending your order confirmation.

9. Children

Grown-Home is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will delete their account.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify users through the Platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
